MONTHLY WRAP-UP: JUNE/JULY 2019 + AUGUST TBR

Commercial Photography

I missed doing a wrap-up last month! Things got busy and by the time I remembered it was already a week too late! But I’m back this month with my reads from June and July, plus some anticipated releases for August. I went a bit out of my comfort zone and into the Space Opera/Sci-fi genre with Leviathan Wakes, and ended up really enjoying it! I also went on a bit of a V.E. Schwab binge and loved every minute of it.

AUGUST TBR:

Release Date: August 6, 2019 | Standalone Retelling

Who doesn’t love a fairytale retelling? The story revolves around 12 sisters that are suffering from a mysterious curse, but only one sister seems to sense the danger. Behind glittering dresses and dancing lies something sinister, and Annaleigh is determined to find out what it is.

Release Date: August 6, 2019 | Book 2 in The Dance of Thieves Series

Mary E Pearson quickly became one of my favorite author’s after reading her Remnant Chronicles series, and then things got even better when she came out with Dance of Thieves! (AND she liked and commented on my bookstagram when I posted a picture of Dance of Thieves- I was fangirling super hard) I’ve been dying for this second installment to come out since the day I finished the previous one, and will probably be reading Vow of Thieves the day it comes out.

Release Date: August 27, 2019 | Book 1 in the Crown of Coral and Pearl series

The cover is so pretty! Plus this book sounds amazing, I always seem to enjoy book where the strong female MC is thrown into court and has to figure out how to navigate things on her own. The world building seems like it will be fresh and detailed, and I’m totally looking forward to starting this series!

What did you read this month? What new books are you looking forward to in August? Tell me in the comments!
