What an unexpected and unique take on the story of Rumpelstiltskin! A lot of the aspects of this book followed the clichés of the genre, but sometimes you just need to read a book like that, and it can even be comforting!
REVIEW: THE SHADOWS BETWEEN US BY TRICIA LEVENSELLER
This book had me hooked from the first chapter; I knew right away that I was going to love Alessandra.
REVIEW: THE WATCHMAKER OF FILIGREE STREET BY NATASHA PULLEY
My first impression of this book was that it had a relaxed manner and that the characters were going to have a lot of depth. Not a whole lot happened in the first section of the book-aside from a bombing- but there were enough interesting details about the characters and their lives to entice me into continuing further.
REVIEW: IN AN ABSENT DREAM BY SEANAN MCGUIRE
I enjoy Seanan McGuire’s writing style very much- it’s probably one of my favorite things about her novels.
REVIEW: JANE, UNLIMITED BY KRISTIN CASHORE
Things in this story felt a little strange straight from the beginning, but not enough that you could put your finger on exactly what was wrong. There was obviously something peculiar going on, but the author did a great job of hinting enough that things became questionable, without giving anything away too early.
REVIEW: THE QUEEN OF SORROW BY SARAH BETH DURST
This author is definitely talented at keeping up a constant tension and making the reader wonder what will happen next. After the events that occurred earlier in the series, I honestly didn’t feel like any character was safe, and was ready for anything to happen.
REVIEW: AND I DARKEN BY KIERSTEN WHITE
I decided to give this book a second shot, partially because I couldn’t really remember what I didn’t enjoy about it the first time around, and also because the second and third books in the series have very high ratings
REVIEW: THE RELUCTANT QUEEN BY SARAH BETH DURST
This series feels like a breath of fresh air in a genre where you’re often given much of the same.
REVIEW: THE QUEEN OF BLOOD BY SARAH BETH DURST
This book was such a pleasant surprise! I didn’t go into this expecting to like it as much as it did. There was nothing that bothered me at all, and a few unique things that made the story that much more enjoyable.
REVIEW: AN ENCHANTMENT OF RAVENS BY MARGARET ROGERSON
This novel fell somewhere in the middle for me. A lot of this book is taken up by a journey the two main characters make, and the story is filled with descriptions of the landscapes they traverse along the way.
