The tone of this book was pretty young, but I found myself not minding it too much. I think I would have enjoyed reading this much more a decade or so ago, but I knew what I was getting into and didn’t ask more of this book than what I knew it could provide.
This series has gotten better and better as it progresses .. I really appreciated the character growth, and the ending was amazing with twist after twist.
You know how sometimes you hype up a series/sequel, and then it doesn’t live up to your expectations because they were ridiculously high to begin with? That was not this book, folks! Vow of Thieves turned out to be everything I hoped it would be- and then some.
This story and these characters have totally stolen my heart! I was on the edge of my seat whenever any of them was in danger, and I teared up anytime they made it back safely from perilous danger. (Or when they didn’t make it back, be prepared for some loss!)
If the finale is as good as the first two books were, then this is going to end up being one of my top series of all time. I can’t find anything wrong with it!
There was nothing that stood out to keep me from picking up the book, but I was always distracted by a pretty cover or a new release, and just couldn’t seem to get around to picking this one up. I’m SO glad that I finally did.
I knew I would like this book as soon as I read the description; it centers around magical books and warden librarians, and the whole concept of the story grabbed my interest right off the bat.
This book took me a while to get into, but eventually I found myself enjoying it. The world building is done really well, and I became immersed in the world and the characters pretty early on.
